365 Day Project: Week 4

I can't believe that January is nearly over. This year has gone so fast so far but I'm really impressed that I've managed to keep this up so far.  Today I’m listening to:

A Storm in a Teacup

So the other day I was out shopping with my friend when I saw this dress and got a bit over excited. It was long enough to go past my knees! Being something like 5’10, dresses that are long enough on other people are always too short on me. So many of the dresses I have, I have to wear with leggings or even skinny jeans. So the fact this dress wasn’t just long enough, but went past my knees was a novelty. It’s really pretty too, these pictures don’t show the top of it but it has a 1940’s sort of feel to it. I can’t wait until the weather warms up and I can wear it with my arms out.    The iso is a bit high in some of these pictures as the sun was setting so half of them are a bit grainy. I didn’t realise this at the time and even though I kind of like the effect, it would have been better if they all looked the same. Oh well, I will just have to remember this for next time. I also went a bit mad in Primark and I have filmed a video on what I bought, which I’ll

365 Day Project: Week 3

So this week I tried to edit my photos as little as possible. I only didn’t use the DSLR once – as I was panic taking it while last minute studying for maths – which meant I’ve relied on changing the camera’s settings more and I have got more confident in working out which one to change. I also took one outside (once). If you liked these you should check out myphotography blog where I'm going to post the photos that I don’t end up using for my 365 day project (please ignore the name, it's an old blog that I have reclained) This week I'm listening to : The new Fall Out Boy album is amazing! I’ve been playing it very loudly, on repeat instead of studying all this week. It was so hard for me to choose which one to put on this blog because I basically love them all. In the end I decided on Immortals because it’s in Big Hero 6 which I am extremely excited for.

Liebster Award

So today is not the right Thursday or Friday (which is when I’ve decided is when I’ll post my 365 project updates) but the other day I was nominated by Bobby from Pressed Powder Blog for the Liebster Award (Thank you!). Being new to this whole blogging thing, I know nothing about this. From what I can tell, it’s some sort of chain-mail meme. But hey, I’ll give it a go. Please bear in mind that I’m basing this totally on the rules on Bobby’s post so if I get it wrong, sorry. Anyhow, the rules are: 1. Thank the person who nominated you. 2. Answers the questions from your nominator. 3. Nominate 11 bloggers who have less than 200 followers. (I’m basing this on Bloglovin’ as I don’t know what I’m supposed to do it on) 4. Create 11 new questions. 5. Notify your nominees through social media The questions Bobby asked were: 1.Why did you start blogging? I started blogging this year after getting really into blogs that I was linked to through Pinterest. I thought “hey th

365 project: week 1 & 2

So the first two weeks of my 365 day project have been semi successful. I t's a miracle that I’ve kept it up this long and  now can do a lot more with the camera’s settings. But I really should have waited until I got a new card reader for my DSLR before I stared. Also I really should start doing more interesting shots now I have the basics down.  (Going outside would be a good idea) If you want to see more of these photos, I post them on my Instagram and I will be doing a post on them weekly on the blog. I have also stared posting on my old (and slightly cringe-y) photography blog again, so if you want to see more, more interesting photos, please check that out here!     Today I’m listening to:

Make Hay While the Sun Shines

Or more like “take advantage of the weather while you can!” So on Tuesday it snowed and I thought; hey, won’t it be cool to take photos in the snow. But I faffed around and it started to snow again and since my camera probably isn’t waterproof, I decided to try again later. On Wednesday the snow was still there but by the time I got home it was dark. So I left it to today and now, the snow’s gone. To top that off, it’s raining so I had to make do with my blue wall again. (Why did I ever think I could do outfit posts with the Scottish weather…)  I love this lipstick so much! I got it after Christmas as I had a voucher for £3 off No7 make-up. I was going for a colour close to my old one, but got a bit carried away by the bright reds.  If you’re wondering why I’m wearing a ring around my neck, it’s the one from the Lord of the Rings. I'm such a nerd. My mum got it for me for Christmas last year after I spent the whole of December raving about how amazing the two ho

A New Year

So another year has come to an end and I don’t have much to reflect back on. Yes, I have grown more in this year than any other, but there haven’t been any specific things that I am proud of and I’ve came nowhere near completing my resolutions. This year instead of setting resolutions that I conveniently forget within the month, I am going to make ones that I will have to stick to. For starters, my mother and I are going to start an exercise class and drag the other to it. I'm going to try and vary my hair and makeup more and include them in my blog posts. I'm also going to do a 365 project where I take a picture every day. To make sure I’m doing this, I will post them to my Instagram. Hopefully this will make me improve my photos because let’s face it; they’re all pretty bad right now.  These photos are of my outfit from this New Year’s Eve taken on my phone as the connector for the proper camera has broken, so they are all a bit blurry. We had a very casual “party
